Description of South Aegean
The South Aegean region of Greece covers a wide range of islands, including the Cyclades and Dodecanese groups. There are around 400 islands in total, which for the most part are largely dependent on tourism and scattered pockets of agriculture. Bursting with incredibly important historical sites and more beautiful beaches than a dozen comparable regions, it's an absolute mecca for sun-seekers and tends to explode in numbers from the early spring to the late autumn. Home to perhaps the most important tourist centres in all of Greece, buy-to-let investment opportunities for short-term holiday rental properties are abundant to say the least. What's more, property prices are beginning to show signs of recovery while still remaining low, thanks to the uncertain European economic climate. Even during the darker periods, new interest continues to be paid to this gorgeous group of islands. The most popular are Mykonos, Rhodes, Milos and Kos.
