Description of Abruzzo
One look at the stunning landscape of Abruzzo and it’s hard to believe that property values are on average far lower than the Italian average. Nestled between four natural parks and a breath-taking mountain range, Abruzzo lies just 80km from Rome but may as well be on another planet entirely. It’s a sleepy region of handmade foods, abundant wildlife and truly unspoiled beaches. Interestingly though, Abruzzo has managed to avoid the harmful effects of mass tourism, which from an investor’s perspective at least makes it a region of debatable potential. Resale properties for use as second homes or holiday home rentals are always worth looking into, while new builds are few and far between. Rent yields are also rather on the low side and the high Italian income tax can take quite the bit out of any income.
