One of the biggest metropolitan areas in Italy, the Province of Milan is highly developed, with the economy, property markets and tourist attention driven by the main city of Milan, where half the international population live, as well as others such as Sesto. Indeed, with so many homes and buildings housing so many local and overseas residents, despite its size, the Province of Milan is one of the most densely inhabited areas in Europe.
