Tuscany is a place that’s famed the world over for its uncomplicated lifestyle – not to mention the trend of rundown barns and farmhouses being transformed into million Euro mansions! The economic crisis dealt the whole of Italy’s property market a sizeable blow, with average property prices across Tuscany plummeting by up to 30 per cent. As of 2011, though, things were once again heading in the right direction and investors began taking notice. These days, picking up an idyllic detached property complete with its own vineyard means shelling out in excess of $6 million, but a quaint farmhouse with three bedrooms and slightly less extensive land can be found for less than $1 million. Tuscany has never been a cheap place to get into, but once you’re in you’ll never want to leave.
