The spectacular mountainous Caribbean island of St. Lucia has long been a popular honeymoon destination but it has a great deal to offer to all sorts of visitors. There are fine beaches, of course, with terrific opportunities for scuba diving and other water sports; but the visitor who sticks to the coats is missing a great deal. The famous Piton Mountains are a boon for mountaineers from the world over, while others find hiking through the thick central rain forest an enduring delight. Attractions such as the world's only drive-in volcano only boost the country's unique appeal further. Modest rental yields can be expected, although the island has seen considerable growth with the development of tourism. Property prices are high, but it is a small cost to pay for a little slice of paradise.
