Izmir is the second largest city in Turkey and is attracting a larger annual tourist clientele with each passing year. Property owners across the Izmir region are experiencing unprecedented demand for short and mid-term lets alike, while the vacation home buyer's market is also heating up. The proximity of Izmir to Alacati, Kusadasi, Foca and Cesme has also had a knock-on effect on property prices over recent years, transforming a once second-consideration holiday region into an up and coming player in a global capacity. Heavy investment in the local infrastructure has led to a solid hike in both rents and property prices, helping to keep yields around the 6 per cent to 7 per cent mark on average.
