Annual property price increases are once again painting a strong picture for Portugal in general, renewing investor interest in the towns and villages across the Leiria region. A 1.5 per cent increase in the year ending March 2015 drove already solid prices to new highs and inspired confidence in both buy-to-let and re-sale property investors alike. Demand from international travellers looking to escape the confines of the most obvious Portuguese coastal resorts are flocking the way of the Leiria region, which is fast becoming a go-to for discerning holidaymakers. Buy-to-let rent yields vary quite enormously from place to place and cannot be taken for granted, though in the most sought-after areas are known to hover around the 5 per cent mark.
