It is generally considered to be one of the most beautiful anchorages in the archipelago and its proximity to the Tobago Cays makes it an ideal stop off point for visitors to the Cays.

The salt pond to the west of Windward Bay is due to be developed into a marina offering additional anchorage and services which will generate a greater influx of visitors to the island.
