Situated in a prime coastal plot between Benalmadena and Marbella, Mijas offers all the glamour and luxury of its neighbouring resorts though for a considerably less painful price. A hotspot for discerning travellers who prefer to see their beaches less crowded and their money go further, the whole area explodes in demand from the early spring until the late autumn and then throughout the Christmas period. A genuinely beautiful part of Andalucia, investors have been increasingly setting their sights on Mijas for some time and things are only looking brighter going forward. Spain may still be pulling itself out of the recent financial slump, but coastal resorts like Mijas emerged with far fewer scars than most inland towns and cities.
