Description of Tenerife
Tenerife as a whole cannot be classified in the same property investment segment as the rest of Spain – it’s better looked at as a separate entity. The reason being that the island as a whole has what seems to be a bullet-proof tourism industry that never slows down at any time of the year and Santa Cruz remains Tenerife’s most important town and administrative heart.
With a skyline to rival that of Madrid and Barcelona and a thriving sea port, Santa Cruz boasts a sub-tropical climate that brings in thousands of hours of sunshine every year and even more people during the Carnival of Santa Cruz, which takes place in January. Between the heaving student population, strong import/export industry and thousands of tourists arriving every single day of the year, investment opportunities abound. The abundance of new builds going on all around Tenerife has put a slight dampener on the appeal of buying to sell on, but in and around Santa Cruz things are generally more stable.
