Description of Greater Manchester
Despite having once taken a rather unenviable backseat to the likes of London and much of the South, investor interest in Manchester has been on the incline for years. In 2013 and 2014 alike, Greater Manchester made its mark in the UK's top-ten regions for buy-to-let investors, producing average rent yields in the region of 7.9 per cent. Property values are escalating but not nearly at the same kind of pace as those in comparable UK towns and cities.
Packed with hundreds of thousands of students, young families and young professionals, Manchester is the epitome of a renter's market. Re-sale opportunities are also abundant, though Greater Manchester has made more of a name for itself as a hotbed of opportunities for buy-to-let landlords.
