As with choosing an area in which to buy, one of the best ways
to go about finding property is often to go to the place you are
interested in and have a look around:
Try
to spot for sale signs. Most houses on the market will have
them. Then it's just a case of giving an agent a ring and having
a look around.
Check
for new developments under construction that might not have
been widely advertised yet. Most of them will have a sign with
a phone number you can ring.
Look
for skips, which can be a sure sign that a property is being
renovated. Whilst it is not always the case, many of these will
end up for sale. Don't be afraid, if you like the look, ring
the bell and ask.
You
might well find estate agents locally that do not advertise
anywhere. There are still quite a few independent estate agents
who have no website and don't actively promote their property
portfolio, relying on word of mouth and passers by for their
custom.
