Florida has long been seen as something of a safe haven for property investors, with year-round demand from domestic and international tourists complimenting the state’s status as a premium retirement hotspot. The years immediately following the crash weren’t too kind to overall property values – 20 per cent slides hit many property owners hard – but in entertainment capitals like Orlando and Miami, the picture has never been stronger. More recently, growth has once again been promising and things are generally looking up for the sunshine state. As a place to invest in a property for personal use, Florida takes some beating. Those more interested in profiting from their investment, on the other hand, are generally advised to consider the areas around Florida’s biggest amusement parks, the beaches of the East Coast, the bays of Tampa and the upmarket areas of Miami. And the really good news is that there are little to no restrictions at all placed on international investors looking to buy-in.
